However, the extent to which other cognitive or environmental factors may contribute requires further study.

These sensory profiles vary dramatically between individuals. Research published in Nature Scientific Reports documented how autistic people's sensory differences shape distinct preferences for colors and textures, influencing everything from clothing choices to home decor. Some participants described intense aesthetic pleasure from specific visual patterns, while others avoided certain tactile materials.

However, the extent to which other cognitive or environmental factors may contribute requires further study.

Beyond the Five Senses

The impacts extend into intimate life.
